Research

I conducted user interviews and then turned it into empathy maps to better understand the target user and their needs. I found out that many people don't even think about private chefs as an option for special occasions. Users would not know where to start and instead would pay huge amounts of money to hire overpriced food services to serve at events and occasions. The pandemic has also made the idea of private chefs cooking from the comfort of your own home a preferable option over eating out at public spaces.

Solution

Search Bar and Filters
Now finding private chefs for special nights is as easy as finding answers on google or looking up friends on social media. Detailed filters also help when "browsing" for a chef and their services.
Quick Look Previews
Quick look previews allow users to easily and efficiently determine if a private chef is someone they are looking for. It provides all of the necessary information for users to know whether to move on or learn more.
Booking Made Easy
Once you arrive at a chef's page, a calendar is provided for users to easily select dates and to view availability. What was once a difficult task has now become as easy as making a reservation at a restaurant.
